PACKAGING & STORAGE

To ensure that the pecan kernels are not damaged by vacuum pressure in the bag, we use a specialised vacuum packing system that removes the air from the bag and replaces it with a Carbon Dioxide gas mixture specifically designed for nuts. There is just enough pressure difference between, outside and inside to maintain the rectangular shape of the pack and to prevent bruising of the kernel through chaffing. The gas mixture prevents rancidity and infestation, further ensuring freshness. Light, which deteriorates the oils in the kernel is eliminated by our branded cardboard cartons.
Temperature fluctuation is eliminated by keeping the nuts at less than 10 degrees Centigrade after harvesting, and at 5 degrees Centigrade, after packaging.
We have made every effort to see to it that the nuts have the best chance of surprising you with freshness and excellent taste.
